Don't you walk through MY door!

I’m in Hong Kong at the moment for work. As I entered the reception area in the building I’ve now been working in for the past week, I was guided through a door to the right of the reception desk.

I was equipped with a pass so I could get in and out and as I didn’t know any better, I continued using the door to the right of the reception desk whenever I needed to get in or our of the office.

But after a few days I was told that I wasn’t allowed to use that door anymore. It was apparently reserved for guests and the big boss. I had to enter through the door to the left of the reception area. I guess I was a guest the first day, but was quickly downgraded to a sad left door employee as soon as I got my pass. I then found out that there is an executive bathroom for the top dogs only.

What is wrong with this picture?

If the big kahuna and his executive team need their own door into the office to prove their worth, I think they need to rethink their management style. I mean, what’s next? They are the only ones allowed to walk on two legs and everyone else has to crawl on all fours?
